Summer Is Here…4 Social Media Tips To Warm Up Your Branding

Social Media Tips – Summer 2018

As the weather turns warm and summer approaches, here are 4 social media tips to rev up your social media strategy.

  1. Pick the Correct Social Channel

    • Each social media channel has a little different audience and delivery type. Facebook is used by most but your message can get lost in all the shuffle. Twitter is perfect for starting conversations. LinkedIn is very professional. Instagram is mobile only and very image heavy.
    • Social Media Tips: Pick wisely and do some testing! It’s all about trial and error. Don’t be afraid of making a mistake.

  2. Make a Social Media Schedule

    • Consistency is important. Social media management is difficult so make it easier by building a schedule of what you are going to say and when. Also, know what events or special holidays fit your business and speak to them on social media. Here is a great page that details all of the off the wall holiday’s throughout the year. As an example, June 4th is Leave The Office Early…guess you’ll know where to NOT find me at 5pm on Monday the 4th.  One social media tip if you are a bar or golf course, take advantage of this “holiday” and tweet out a special for those skipping out early.
    • Social Media Tips: Look at the calendar and pick events that fit your brand.  Then schedule your posts…and have fun!

  3. Use New Social Media Features

    • Facebook and Instagram just released a new feature that businesses and organizations can use to tell behind-the-scenes stories. Learn it and use it to your advantage.  Social media management is all about using new tools to stay ahead of the game and beat out your competitors to get eyeballs on your brand.  The faster you adopt these social media tips and tools, the better you can stay ahead of your competitors.
    • Social Media Tips: Learn the new features and stay ahead of the game. Make sure to follow the major social media players to learn from them…like me.  Follow here!

  4. Find Content That Connects

    • Play to your core audience. Make sure that your posts are in the same tone that you run your organization. Brand consistency is really important so you’ll want to match your social media voice with your business voice.  There is a time and place to have fun and games and social media is definitely the place for it…most of the time.  Every business and organization should be care with the tone that they post with because voice can get lost when on a keyboard.
    • Social Media Tips: Watch your social media voice and have someone else at your organization read your post before sending.
